The GL640USB is a low-cost, single-chip embedded controller designed for connecting an IEEE 1284 parallel port peripheral to USB. It is suitable for applications where the IC is mounted on a PCB inside a product or stand-alone applications where the chip resides in a cable connecting a standard parallel port device to an USB-capable omputer.
The GL640USB firmware/driver will allow peripheral vendors to easily migrate parallel port device to USB.
